    GW-7900B-1 Problem

My mother in law bought me this watch for Christmas. The moon graph continually spins and the tide graph is sporadically flashing. Also none of the buttons are working on it including the illumination button. The 1st day it worked great 2nd day not so great. I wanted to check with some people to see if its a fixable problem before i sent it back for repair.

The reason we need the pictures is to determine whether or not you have been inadvertantly been given a 'fake casio'. Unfortunately there are many fakes being sold, and yours seem to be showing symptoms of a non-genuine product, which is normally extremely rugged & reliable!

Oh, forgot to say - if you do send it back to Casio, and it is a fake, they are duty bound to destroy it so you won't get it back!

Here is a picture of the watch. The Screen has finger prints on it. Its not scratches.

The watch is legit, but you're saying that the moon phase and tidal graph are constantly flashing? Everything else seems to appear fine from the picture. I'd try opening it up and performing am A/C reset.

Just hate to take it apart and then get told they wont cover it bc ive taken it apart. Also hate to send it in if its an easy fix and be out of a watch for another 3 months during repair.

I understand what you're saying. I've never had a problem with a G while it was still under warranty, so I have no expierence with that. Any modification/repair that I've needed for a G, I've always attempted myself. But if you're still covered, then I would say your best bet is to send it in.

I agree. The jeweler she ordered it from has a 10 day satisfaction guarantee so hopefully theyll send me a replacement instead of waiting on a repair on mine.

    Re: GW-7900B-1 Problem

Only thing I can think of as a possibility is that one of the buttons are stuck down. My guess is the upper right split-reset button. It doesn't appear to be stuck down in your photo but try messing with it. Does it feel like the others?

I have swapped the bezel on my GW-7900 a couple of times and the buttons are a little odd to get lined back up.
