Help decide a G-Lide

I am looking to buy a watch, WUS has gotten me addicted to watches, and am debating over the GLX-5500-1 (black), and the GLX-5600-3 (green)

GLX-5500-1 - I like it for its size, and look, but do not care for the purple dial
GLX-5600-3 - I LOVE the color, green.

I like the module, 3151, and the ability to give me tide and moon graphs. I also like the idea of an auto light.

Many new G-Lides and other G-Shocks with your desired functionality have been announced in the last few days. Have you seen those yet? You may prefer an upcoming model.

Wow, that is a very tough choice. I'd have to go with the black, damn, its almost a coin toss.

The GLX-5600 is the classic G-shock model, but it seems too plain.

I'm no fan of the 5500's design, but that one looks nice thanks to the choice of color. And the purple text might grow on you; it's not overly garish anyway, being offset by the solid black.

I prefer the shape of the 5600, so that probably gets my vote.

I would look into which colour suits you best, as I see it the black is going to be a more subtle watch, so can be worn pretty much anywhere. The green on the other hand has a much more 'fun' look, and will stand out a bit more on the wrist. For a suit maybe not, but for casual wear and a bit of fun doing it it works nicely.

^ looks like a great watch, but im looking at the G-lide watches for the tide and moon graph as well.

Maine, I have looked at the new models coming out. They only have one GLX-5500 coming out and a few GLX-5600s. they added solar and 6 band to them i believe.

I think i am leaning more towards the GLX-5500. I saw on the forums that the bezel and strap of a GWM5600 would fit the GLX-5600. I could then buy the green GLX and buy a black bezel and strap from the GWM-5600 and swap them whenever.

I really like the 5500 case style and I plan on getting one sometime soon. That's why I went for the GLX-5500-1. Looks like it would have great wrist presence.

the purple is still holding me back from purchasing the GLX5500. can anyone think of a way to possible remove the purple with a mod?

I am liking the black glx 5600 more and more right now. I am getting very tempted to buy both the GLX5500-1 and GLX5600-1, but I can only get one right now as i have another watch coming in. I cant spend all my money on watches.
