Re: Help me pick a Mudman

I voted for no. 1 because in my opinion it is still the best looking with the best module of the mudman series, though i would rather chose another colour scheme.

I owned no. 2 also but never could really warm up with it and i think it has the weakest module of the series.

no. 3 was, is and will always be one of the ugliest g-shock's in my opinion, though the module isn't bad at all. but i would definitely go with the (much better looking) GW-M850 instead.

A short Tutorial on „How to use and calibrate a Casio Altimeter“:

    1. Attach a string to your Casio AB(C) watch (feel free to use any length)
    2. Abseil the watch into an Abyss until you hold the string’s end between your fingers
    3. Get the watch up again
    4. Use a measuring tape to measure the string length
    5. Success! Now you have carefully calibrated the Altimeter
    6. Important!!! The Altimeter Lock will stay enabled, unless you shorten or lengthen the string

I love the Rally Mudman & totally agree with Coler. The layout, legibility, and crispness of the display.. plus I like its looks over the others. I wish it came in the color variations that the G-9000 does, but atomic solars rarely do.

Re: Help me pick a Mudman

Another vote for nr 2. It's one of the best looking muds(and it looks a lot better in real life than pics). I've had one for a year or so now, and it still the looks still grows on me and it's a super comfortable watch. Downside would be that the buttons are not optimal(as all muds), time not visible in STW, 60min CDT and that it has a long imho annoying delay when you press the set-button(for example when you want to set a new CDT-time) but I guess that goes for most newer atomic g-shocks.

The advantages of the newer version 9010 is that it has 6band(which is of no relevance to me since I'm not in China), date and day in time mode(but again, not so useful to me since I rarely forget which day it is) and a 24h CDT. But as far as I understood, the CDT doesn't show the current time on the 9010, so I would much rather use the 9000 CDT.
Not to mention that I never could get used to the looks of the 9010. I don't know what it is, but I just don't like it.

I prefer the multiband and tough solar...they´re not ugly.

    Hi

I have both a #1 (red version with reverse display) and a #3 (non-atomic version) and I have to say I much prefer #3 (although they are both great looking watches).

    Couple of reasons:
    - #3 is solar powered.
    - #3 does not have a time limit on the auto-el function. #1 has 6 hour limit so you have to keep switching it on.
    - #3 has power save function.

I even prefer #3 to my Riseman (Heresy!!!)

Makes me dizzy as I like them all, but #2 is the coolest I think...

Re: Help me pick a Mudman

I have number 2 and 3. Like many before...I have too had a tough time deciding which one I like better. Even though I really like the layout of #1, I would eliminate #1 right off the bat because I love the solar/atomic features that 2 and 3 provide. The thing I love best about number 2 is the subdued colors(stealthy look). It just looks rugged and mean. However, I'm not crazy about the 5 eyes. They're not a deal-breaker, but I'd rather not have them there. I like the layout of #3 the best. I do like the honeycomb background and it has a lighter tone to it than the gw9000. The one thing I HATE is the red G-shock lettering on top and the white on the bottom and the red highlights around the bezel. Some people like that, but I think it just screams "look at me"(but most G's do). I'm planning on getting rid of that. That's just me though and I actually hate that on all G's...Function wise...as others have said #3 is ONLY better if you are in need of a rally timer or plan on visiting the Far East often. Some people complain about the buttons being hard to push on the mudmans...One other thing I found with mine that I thought was really weird...The buttons on my gw9010(#3) are MUCH easier to push than on my gw9000(#2)....Coincidental and a manufacturing difference I'm sure, but I found it weird none the less....Either way you go...awesome watches...you won't be dissapointed...extremely comfortable watches in my book...

Re: Help me pick a Mudman

Forgot to mention another couple of reasons that I prefer #3

The rally timer is very useful for timing my running sessions. I can set a target time of 25 minutes and the watch alerts me (beeps at 5,3 & 1 minutes to go) when I'm getting close. It also records the last 30 sessions so that I can see how I'm improving (or not)

Add this to the fact that the illumination duration can be changed to either 1.5 or 3 seconds (fixed at 1.5 on Riseman) makes this a perfect watch in my book
