Picture The Lunch Money Watches Appreciation Thread

Here in US, it's pretty rich if you spend $30 bucks or more for lunch. Assuming that you're not eating double portions, of course! So, am creating this ongoing thread for sharing our enjoyments for watches that we can get for mere lunch money.

Only 1 rule applies: you can showcase your watches here that you purchased for less or equal (<=) to $30 USD (or equivalent cash value in other currencies).

Doesn't matter if that's a new watch price, discounted price, or used watch price, as long as what you paid is <= $30 USD. Feel free to describe why you like them, if you want. Casio or other brands are welcome.

    ------------------------
    So, here I go first.

DB36 and W800H. Both I paid less than $15 bucks! Great basic digital watches for that amount of money. Especially for the DB36, which comes with 24h timer, 24h stopwatch, and multi-languages databank. Both are with similar square shape, and are actually more square than a G-Shock square. I replaced both watches' stock straps with aftermarket 5600-ish straps.

B640W. Fun little retro digital "dress" watch, which I paid just below $20 bucks. The clarity of the LCD is beyond believe for a watch in this price range. Almost look like it has STN display used in some of the Protreks and G-Shocks. Compare to the more classic looking A158W and A168W, the B640W has a more modern buttons layout and with 24h timer/stopwatch.

I apologize for the crappy lighting.

Anyway, my three sub $30 Gs are.
    GLX5600 $21 used
    DW6900MS $23 used
    DW9052 $25 new.

G-shocks are like chips, betcha can't have just one.

Timex T40941. Cool little Expedition with super clear LCD, only costed me $26 bucks. It has 24h timer and stopwatch as well. It's feather light too, I would forget it's on my wrist after a while.

W736H. This G-Shockish digital usually cost more than $30, but I got it with a steep discount at $25. Again crystal clear display, as well as huge digits. It has vibration alarm like its older bro the W735H. It's unique to have a negative LED lighting on a positive display LCD. Another interesting thing is that in the dual time mode you can see hour, minute and second for both time displays.

SGW300. Purchased this used at $25. Wasn't expecting to get this watch, since I have its reliable bro the SGW-100. But for that price, what the heck. It's a classic twin sensor (baro/temp) watch. Lots of functions and a joy to wear!

$30 for lunch? I'd be upset if I paid that for me and Mrs. Wit. I snagged quite a few for $30 and under. Flocks need fleecing.

The Casio Royale is a lot of fun for $23.00. Demand for this retro watch seems to be driving prices up toward $30.00 and higher.

DW-5600CS-9, got it for $25 at the local pawn shop.

I thought it was ugly AF, bought it for a don't care work beater. Over time, the color has grown on me, though.

The display is plenty legible, the backlight is nice and bright, the profile is classic and comfortable.
The watch has a trim adjustment, so I've been able to get the time within COSC specs.
The functionality is minimal, but just what I need. The alarm is plenty loud, and I love the flash on beep feature.
Also, and this is a personal preference. the time is displayed in all modes.
One other little tiny detail I enjoy is that, if you change modes, then interact with said mode, the next mode always returns to time.

That is, say the modes are time->Alarm->Timer->Stopwatch.
If I switch to alarm, then turn the alarm on, off, or make any changes to the alarm, the next mode press takes me right back to time. That way I don't have to cycle through all the modes every time I want to do something.

Great thread! I spend $30 for 4-7 lunches usually!

But, I haven't been able to find a watch for <$30 USD yet.
