    Managed to snag a Hero

    Good morning 😁

I left a bid on a watch overnight, (from the States). I had a sneaky suspicion that it might go fairly cheap because the seller pictured it as it was, with a wonky module.

I've got hold of G's/Casio's with things like this "wrong" before for cheap so was very happy to find a "won auction" notification from eBay 😊.

So for £33, (+ extra on top for postage obviously), I am now waiting for this: (sellers photos, taken as screenshots so apologies if they aren't the right way up).

Just a bezel to order from watches.br now.

    DW-5200 240 mirror back:

This might be motivation enough for me to rummage through my garage full of storage totes and find my DW-5000 from high school.

    Good idea!

You'll probably find that the bezel will be falling apart though!

When I tossed in a bin of memorabilia back in the early '90's it was down to head only as the strap had gone south--everything else was fine though. Not sure now...

I also have a Hero, but its in worse conditions than this one, there is a significant lcd leak at the corners of the screen, still I enjoy wearing it.

Also no bezel screws. I noticed that it knocks out maybe 40% of the final selling price as compared to complete ones.

You are right. In addition, It's hard to get a set of screws for this watch especially the slotted (-) one which is the original screws for DW-5000/5200. Selling price will be lesser again if the screws were broken.

Yeah, saw they were missing, I didn't bid too much and wasn't going any higher because of that.

I don't mind having Phillips screws, but you never know, I might get lucky with finding originals, (yeah, right!).
