MIMB Gulfman Negative Display "Real World" Outdoor Shots

hey guys and gals - wanted to show folks out there that have ever thought of getting a negative display and were curious about the visibility. well, be curious no more! This is the "newer" negative display on the recent G-Shocks. I will be using my GW-9100MB-1JF MIMB Gulfman for the example

you can see my "indoor" shots for comprison in this thread

so here we go, tried to snap a few in different outdoor lighting, some in the shade, some in sunlight, on the porch, in the woods, even one in the car! I'm not the best photographer but then again, that adds to the "real world" examples below

A short Tutorial on „How to use and calibrate a Casio Altimeter“:

    1. Attach a string to your Casio AB(C) watch (feel free to use any length)
    2. Abseil the watch into an Abyss until you hold the string’s end between your fingers
    3. Get the watch up again
    4. Use a measuring tape to measure the string length
    5. Success! Now you have carefully calibrated the Altimeter
    6. Important!!! The Altimeter Lock will stay enabled, unless you shorten or lengthen the string

The red letters on the ring are perfect.

Re: MIMB Gulfman Negative Display "Real World" Outdoor Shots

Thank you for your replies. This forum has been and continues to be very educational and fun for me. The least I can do is respond in kind and hopefully help out someone who needs to see both indoor and outdoor photos of a negative display.

you can tell from the pictures that different angles give different levels of readability and that is to be expected (especailly indoors)

I love the Gulfman design, but this really about showing and setting expectations on the negative display both indoors (other thread) and out.

I so love that piece! Tough decision between that and the MIMB Riseman.

    Thanks for the photos!

That is MUCH better clarity than the negative display G's I have used. Thanks for posting that!
