    Nato on G-Shock.... doable??

    Hey Cats,
Considering putting my G-Shock on a red striped Nato, is this doable?? Model is G-7900A-4 in red.
Please advise and if some of you have done this, can you share a pic with me so I can get an idea of what to expect or even decide if it's worthwhile.

    Thanks!

    Peace,
    Preston

Yes, it can be done - I remember someone on the forum using the adaptors from a G-2300 on a G-7900 and putting it on a velcro strap - looked ##### wicked awesome.

Did you check this thread out? Might work but I am not sure on the dimensions of the G7900. He uses a Suunto adapter.

I think on the G-7900 the standard G-Shock adapters will work. On the Mudman the strap attachment is very different from other G-Shocks. Unfortunately I couldn't find the thread with the modded G-7900.
Edit: the G-7900 looks like the strap is attached with the two screws on the side but that's not the case - it has normal 16mm springbars.

    Re: Nato on G-Shock.... doable??

If you don't want to cut your lugs / buy adapters, you could simply buy a cheap NATO and cut the strap itself to fit. That is what I did (then again, I thought it was a good idea after a few beers, so it definitely wasn't the best job). Here it is on a cheap extra bond NATO I snagged off ebay a while ago (20mm):

Crappy cellphone pic, sorry. Looks better in person, and would rather just do this on a black NATO, but it was just for kicks / proof of concept. I simply cut the NATO (I SHOULD have only cut a small notch where the spring bars would be, but I ended up cutting it way too narrow and all the way between the two lugs ... I blame that mistake on the alcohol) to fit inside the small lugs, and put the strap in place before attaching the spring bars.

So if you don't mind 'ruining' a $12 ebay NATO, that would be a cheap way to go. All you need is scissors, a flame, and (in my case) some beer to make you decide to randomly do this :p

If you are talking about the Suunto adapter, I just did a quick search on Amazon for you and found this: Amazon.com: Suunto Wrist-Top Computer Watch Replacement Strap Kit (Vector, Altimax. Mariner, Regatta, D3; Black Neoprene): Sports & Outdoors

I bet ebay has some for a better price as well.

I took my GW5600J-1 and took the case cover of it, and squeezed the watch on a 18mm nato, and I like it.

The Suunto clips won't work on the G-7900 - like I wrote: it uses normal springbars. The adapters can be found here:
    G-Shock Band Adapter
    or here:
    maratac
In the USA I think you can buy them from Casio directly.
