This watch shows the day of the week and the date, but does it show the month also?

To answer a couple questions -

It shows the date and day of week only.

I read the spec and it seems to be.

You can toggle between STD time and DST time with the GW-3000. While in the Home City setting, press the 2 o'clock button and the subdial at 9 o'clock will toggle from STD and DST. So you should be able to turn it off when you don't want it .. see page 3 in the manual. According to the manual of the GW-4000 (module 5087) it appears to use the same process to toggle STD/DST.

Just curious - if you can't program in the month, on a '30 day' month, do you have to change the date manually or does the atomic sync take care of it?
Never argue with an idiot - they'll only bring you down to their level and win from experience...

The watch DOES know what month it is, it just doesn't show it in the main display. The only way I know how to make the watch show the month is by entering into manual time setting mode, where you can set the time as well as the date/month/year. Thankfully the atomic sync includes time and date so I never have to worry about that, just like any digital Casio.

Well I have the 3000M, which has white hands, numerals and hour indicators, and I think the lume on that model is very good.. lasts all night. I have heard some of the other colorways of the 3k aren't all created equal. But the 3000M compared to the green 4k, well they seem pretty similar. This pic shows them to be about the same, but keep in mind when I took this one I had just taken the 4k out of the box after a week being shipped and in the dark whereas the 3k was sitting on my window sill all day and had a fresh charge. Both looked very good at the time...
