I changed my mind. I would secure the DW-5200.
I changed my mind. I would secure the DW-5200.
Hi John,
Yipee, another excuse to post the biggest G Shock regret of my life - I sold my DW5200 last year, and regretted it as I was walking back home from the post office!
It was absolutely mint, with the sticker on the back just as I'd bought it in 1986
No need to ask which I would favour...
By the way, what currency are you talking about when you say it's 325.00?
Never argue with an idiot - they'll only bring you down to their level and win from experience...
GW7900B (Stealth modded), GW7900CD-9ER (slightly modded), G7900A-7ER (Camo modded) G7900MS-1BDR, GW2500BD, ProTrek PRG 60YT, Chase Durer Mach 3, 2 x Citizen Skyhawks (Black & Titanium), Citizen Carbon Promaster JY0075-54E, 2 x vintage Seiko Chronographs...
easy: 5200 all the way.
as other before me have pointed out, you can find a GW-5000 quite easily. A NOS 5200 however is another story....
Alex
If you decide not to get the DW-5200 would you be kind to let us know where to get it? I am sure lots members already dying to place the money down.
WOW,guys, thanks for all the responses, really was the push I needed.this specific DW-5200 has the rare B Caseback and the strap and bezel is all OEM of course being that it is NOS.also inclu in the price is a new and discontinued Extra stock Casio strap and bezel that is period correct.I got lucky and stumbled across a hard core G-Shock enthusiast who has been collecting these for over 20 yrs.subscribes to the steel chassis/battery operated Old School vintage squares of the past philosophy, could care less about Solar and Syncing,a real PURIST.I will be honest here and say that I did sell a GW-5000 last week purchased from Seiya,IMHO it was just a little to plain jane for me.even with the upgraded DLC screwback and case it did not WOW me like I thought it would.however,I was not sure if I screwed up and was thinking about picking up another one over the HERO until this great feedback from you guys confirmed what my inner self was telling me,buy the HERO.he has set the 5200 aside for me as well as a NOS DW-5600C SPEED(901)module still in it original box and that one is going for 190.00.I have seen the pics, these are Immaculate.
he is CONUS so all prices are in U.S. currency.I am 50 now so I look back fondly at the 5XXX series G's from the 80's and mid-nineties,set in my ways I guess.thanks again for all the help, really appreciated.
CHEERS

Congrats!

BIG Congrats for a phenomenal decision. Wear it like a HERO!
Lucky you! A NOS 5200 is something truly special. Good decision, I say (and I have a GW-5000).
What's a NOS?
At that price point, I'd prefer the GW-5000. All of the tech is there, and parts are more readily available.
