Rescued battered dw 5600c. It looks happier now.

I eventually found a dw5600c and think i got an ok deal, paying £12 for it but it was in a bit of a mess, missing 99% of its strap. The bezel looked original with a few of the usual cracks around it. The crystal has seen better days but i have seen worse. On the up note, there was just enough battery life left in it to give the light bulb a go and it worked! but that was enough to kill the battery.
So after a clean and fitting a new panasonic battery, a new CASIO band and a non Casio bezel and gasket it was ready for the draw with the rest of my collection lol.
Joking aside im wearing it now and im happy with the outcome.

    Thanks for looking,

    redeye

That was a really good deal for 12 pounds. I paid WAY more for one in worse shape. Good restoration!

I had to laugh at the "99% of the strap gone" and then seeing the rest of it stuck on the springbars - hilarious! Nice restoration!

    cheers, Sedi

Very nice save indeed! I really like what you did with it. How did you get that nasty gouge out of the crystal?

I saw a good crystal restoration post a week or two ago on here and thought his result looked fantastic, but it takes a long time to do, so i decided to take the photo at an angle that would descise the scratch instead!
I think one day i might get round to polishing the crystal as it is only a light (not deep) scratch. And also i think it will bother me more and more as time goes by.

It looks great, and you got an amazing deal considering the condition of the caseback. It alone is probably worth what you paid for the watch.

If you ebay 5600c bezel, it comes up with a couple of listings. i believe these to be fake going on the price. genuine bezels are very hard to come by and sell for redicilous amounts.
The quality of this bezel is better than i thought.

Out of interest does anyone know roughly be the price to be paid for a watch in similar refurbed condition? just wondering with all the bits i paid to do it up.

Oh by the way, if you see the bent spring bar on the pic above, i doubt the 5600e spring bar hole would hold up to such a force do you?
