I have had it for a year+ and it is simply one of the clearest negative display Gs out there, 95% of the time totally legible at a glance.
That said it isn't as clear as a positive display version, it just looks cooler!

Re: Thinking about my third G

I own a GW-6900BC, one of the best 6900s ever due to its all black look and the awesome combi bracelet, which is otherwise the same thing as any 6900 size-wise and found that they have significant overhang due to the way the case is designed. Ditched the combi in anticipation of putting it on a GW-5000 and installed a Zulu on the 6900, now it wears a lot better. The 6900 form factor is a classic, but you might not like how it wears out of the box.

The GD-350 and GD-400 have big cases but the designers seemed to have also considered potential wearers with smaller wrists and I like the fit on them better. My 6900 comes with only the most basic of G-Features due to the atomic and solar while the GD-350 is a favorite due to the vibe alarm and flash. The quick start stopwatch is handy. Plus you can set the LED to have 5-second afterglow! I used to dislike LEDs because they're too bright for their purpose, but now I like them exactly because they're super bright lol.

    GD350

I have some version of all three of those, and I like them all. I suppose it depends on my mood, but I maybe like the 350 best, by a hair or two, mostly because I dig the shape - it looks slightly more square or rectangular, or maybe oblong, on the wrist. I also really dig the functions mentioned above, the timer etc. I rotate through all my different G's pretty regularly, so I can't say I have huge preferences. Good luck with your choice! Maybe you will need more then one more G in the collection though, just sayin'.

Btw, I have two versions of the 350:

You haven't owned a really NICE GShock until you've owned a Frogman!! The newest ones GWF and GWFD for very large wrists, and the DW and GW series for more "normal" size wrists.....

The gd350 neg display is one of my favourite Gs. Readability is excellent in all lighting conditions and the module is very useful.

Have you ever considered maybe getting the GW9400-1 Rangeman? I own two (2) with the positive LCD display and I love them both.

These are my two (2) Rangeman that I wear. Maybe this model will be your third G-Shock.

I love the GD350. It is my workout watch. Great size, and the count down timer can be set for seconds. Mine is set for 20 seconds, and can be activated from the "home screen". I wear headphones and listen to music while working out, so having the vibe go off instead of a tone is very convenient.
