Confused Warranty problem with a Casio G9000BP-1 Mudman

I have a problem with my Casio G9000BP-1.
The left top screw is broken inside the case. Kind of the same as
    here.
The case and the band is perfectly find, there is just the broken screw inside the case to remove.

Casio don’t want to take it in warranty because they said:

    The watch was evaluated
    top left screw broke
    module #3031
    eval - case damaged

Following there warranty chart they said nothing about a broken screw.
They want to charge me $56 for the repear.
If I don’t repear it they charge me $9 shipping me back the watch.
What is the best option for me ? What can I do ?

    Also:
Is it possible to remove the broken screw inside the case ? Who can do this ? What is the order of price ? Is there other solution for don’t have to trash this watch ?

    options:

1/ spend 56 bucks for a new watch

2/ sell the watch as broken and never buy Gshock again

3/ attempt to hammer the broken screw from inside out and then use a bigger screw and super glue for that place

I have a set of drill bits that remove broken screws. You could try a jeweler.

Re: How to do when the screw between the case and the band is broken ?

I don't have that specific model, so I'm talking out of my you-know-where.

If you were to remove the band, and then the bezel... basically strip the watch of anything that can obscure the broken screw.

Maybe... just maybe after you remove all the "stuff" you will reveal a little bit of the broken screw. Then use a good pair of needle nose pliers to unscrew it.

I already try to have a look but there is no apparent broken screw for leverage.

that was not really the same question asked, one was about the Casio warranty and the other one was about how to remove a broken screw in a watch ... but the picture was the same.

Looking on the first post - you asked about the screw and the warranty - so no need for two threads really . I noticed the text was slightly different.

    cheers, Sedi

Quite worrisome reading about the warranty terms applied and the cost. Surely one thing to keep in mind before purchasing for those of us who only plan owing one or two watches. I would say get a new watch and try to remove the broken screw by a special drill bit mentioned by Catherine. Best of luck in repairing your G-Shock.
