    thanks for the links

this is a pleasant surprise: I was worrying about going beyond my g-shock budget to get this, but all of that is gone now after seeing the pictures.
the glossy red is just not working for me. the surface of the resin - especially the bezel - looks very rough; the finish looks cheap and toy-like.
the glossy finish makes it hard to see the sharp lines of the bezel; the whole thing looks like a red juicy mess in a distance or under bright light
this would look amazing if it comes with red jelly resin though

Too shiny for my tastes . If the red was a bit duller, something more closer to the Burning Red tones, I would would be more interested. Besides, the resin looks a bit like a bad paint job with orange peel.
    Cheers!

Resin looks fine to me. Not sure about the gold screws on the bezel. Will have to examine in person.

Loving the LCD backcolor, not resonating with the gloss red. The black coating is cool. Dress this in black and I think it'll look great.

I didn't realize that the 1000 series eye counts seconds, not minutes. Boo! I use my 225's eye to get a quick glance at the time - not possible here. No repeat timer on 1000's either which is a killer feature for me. I really want to be in love with the 1000s, but there's just these little disappointing aspects that I can't quite get over.

Oh well, saves me some money. :)

Looks really cool, aside (from the shininess) and I love the red and gold and the fact that it has a tide graph.
Costs too much for me though! :/

Agreed, love the LCD backcolour as well.
I personally think that Casio is pretty retarded to put dive-timer as the first mode - a devastating annoyance to me with the new module.
I sympathised wit the perceived need to show off frogman's credential as a diver's watch; but it is utterly self-delusional for one to assume that when most owners of frogman strap on one of these, they are out for a dive.
If only Casio could somehow introduce the forward+reverse function of the right two buttons to the left so that we could quickly switch between modes.
