40th anniversary special: TW Steel CEO Tech Emerson Fittipaldi LE watch

Produced in honour of motorsport legend, Emerson Fittipaldi, and his 40th anniversary of winning the Brazilian Grand Prix, TW Steel has issued a black PVD limited edition. Limited to 777 pieces (the number and price is based on a formula: 7 is the two-time Formula One World Champion’s designated ‘lucky’ number) the timepiece is powered by a Miyota 6S20 movement powering chronograph functions inset on a black dial with gold and green accents.

The case is sandblasted PVD black coated steel and contains a green tachymeter scale, a subtle reminder of Fittipaldi’s Brazilian win and a detail made at his own request. His signature adorns the case back to further make his mark on the model.

The screws on the TW Steel CE4017 compliment the look further thanks to the use of AA-grade PVD yellow gold plating. With the pushers also in AA-grade PVD yellow gold plating, with a shine finish, and the head of the crown the same, the chronograph also sports a stylish black dial with gold-coloured indexes.

With 100 metres water resistance the overall look of the watch comes on a black Italian leather strap with croco-style print and a sandblasted PVD black coated clasp with PVD yellow gold plated screws. The quality of the timepiece is assured with a 24 month guarantee and is housed in a luxurious CEO box once again featuring Emerson’s signature.

“It’s a beautiful watch but then I’d expect nothing less from my friends at TW Steel. It’s a privilege to put your name to something that reflects your belief in both excellence and performance. I am sure my fans and watch lovers alike will appreciate the design accents we’ve used to make this watch relevant to me and my heritage. It’s quite special to have a second TW Steel with my name attached to it, especially a limited edition as stylish as this!” Emerson Fittipaldi

Didn't Timex produce a line of TW branded watches as well?

I'm not normally a fan of TW Steel but that watch is not bad looking.

I think it looks pretty good; but then I also like the look of the Hublot Big Bang and AP Royal Oak, which have a similar appearance. I don't like the strap on this watch, though; I think rubber or a bracelet would fit the style better.
