Any suggestions? Luxury/sports/diver watches preferably, but I know that their price-tags' usually have wings. I'm looking for a quality timepiece at a reasonable price. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think a good option would be a Seiko (Black) Monster. Many collector's I know have one, no matter how big and expensive their collection is. It's a classic and a good start for anyone. You can pick one up for less than £160. It looks and feels like a £800 watch to me.
If you want quality you might also opt for a Seiko G-Shock, but they might not be what you are looking for. But they are good watches, especially if you plan on giving your watch hell.
You can get a quality watch for £160. Sure, there's a lot of expensive models out there, but they tend to add features you do not absolutely need. And when you read these forums you might think spending a few grand is normal/necessary, but 'we're' collectors eh :).
lol, I thought £160 was a tidy little sum, but what do I know? Yup, I've seen the Seiko (Black) Monster, however, for me it's a bit too chunky looking, and though it may be really lightweight in real life, I doubt that it would grow on me. I don't like the styling to be honest, but each to their own and all that jazz. I've recently bought these two watches on Ebay:-

Not to offend any of the watch enthusiasts on this forum, a lot and I mean a lot of the uber-luxurious, wallet-contracting watch brand designers seem down on creativity, but like I said, what do I know? lol, I couldn't afford them even I wanted to buy one of them so meh :-S
Eddie's Precista PRS 17Q and 18Q fit your price range. I am not sure if they are the best watches you can buy at that price range. But, timefactor watches are generally good quality watches at a reasonable price. Also, I don't know how you would feel about quartz vs automatic. (17A and 18A are their auto counterparts that are slightly more expensive.)
I was going to recommend my Citizen BN0000-04H dive watch as a great watch in your price range (£169 list, within budget if you ask nicely) - I absolutely love mine, solid construction, wears brilliantly on my wrist (ie a smaller wrist) and works perfectly.
On that basis having a look at your options from Citizen is always a fairly sound idea, beyond the personal style bit, even the cheaper watches seem sound pieces and I love the idea of the Eco-drive.
Similarly Seiko seem a pretty safe bet for about your budget and have styles to suit pretty much any need.
I like the Vostok Europe brand with the Russian movements, put together in Lithuania.

The Sea-Gulm M222S is a ripper.
There are a lot of other Sea-Gulls to check out too, if that one isn't your style.
