Funny, I've just seen it in AU $, US $ and GBP , all at 395 lol

It looks alright if you like that sort of thing, if you like it , you buy it, it's not much is dollars is it

Probably one of those products has a completely unachievable 'retail' price that no-one ever sells it for, bit like a shopping channel retail price

Its not a not of money in the great scheme of things, and if it is for you then maybe you shouldn't be looking at the watch lol

It's a real thing :D. Even Seiko had some (Sapphlex). From what I read sapphire is cheaper then good sapphire coated mineral now and cheaper ones may peel off in a few years. So it's not really used anymore.

    Re: Breed watches? anyone ?

Got me a Breed Adam on ebay ($70 incl shipping), looked interesting, claimed to be SS. Arrived -- looks good, is heavy, but the mechanism is a joke. Noisy (you can hear the wheel rattling inside it). The case in the back states "Automatic Jewelled Movement". The crown has two settings: time setting and date setting but it doesn't click on each individual one, which makes setting it a pain, since it slides back and forth. I also suspect the "leatherness" of its strap, too glossy and stiff -- more like PU. Hands are hollow (can't tell from pictures), thus no lume of any sort. In the dark, you are on your own.

It LOOKS like a cool watch, feels like a great watch -- seems like a company who is going on "uniqueness" (they do stand out -- their watches are classier-looking than most novelty watches), figuring the clientele won't care for the horological quality. It is yet another gimmicky quick buck scheme, great for a prom and nothing else. For the "retail price" a decent Chinese movement shouldn't be a problem, or even a Miyota (eg. LeChateau automatics which retail for about $100). I might have it serviced (properly oiled), maybe the noise goes away. Maybe it'll wait for my son's prom.
