Basically I'm looking for some advice. I'm sixteen, still at school, and looking to go to university. I've got a budget of £1000 and I am thinking of buying a proper watch. This will be my first expensive (relatively!) watch, and I'm looking for something that will still work and I can still be proud of when I'm a pensioner! At the moment, I'm liking the style of many 2nd hand Breitlings. Not the really cluttered Navitimers with about sixteen complications, but the slightly toned down, more elegant models. I've got my eye on an 'Antares' for £900. First of all, obviously Breitling is famous due to its ad campaigns (Breitling Jets and Wingwalkers to name a few), but is it a respected brand in the 'watch community'. Also, does anyone have any experience buying from 'chrono24'? Is it worth paying the extra and going to the high street? And finally, any recommendations of particular models or eras from Breitling's history?
