    carbon fiber faces

i love these watches (although i would only buy the legend without the schumacher writing on it). i especially love the oris tt3 black. i am looking for a sporty watch and as a younger man i think these watches look great on me (well i've only tried 2 of them). my question is, do you think that in 10-15 years i'm going to look down at it and go, 'what was i thinking??' is carbon fiber too risky for such a large investment?

I like they way it looks but carbon fiber has been a "trendy" material for a while now. Styles can change in 10-15 years regardless of what you buy.

just to clarify, i don't mean investment in the literal term of wanting to sell at a later date for profit, i intend to keep this watch. cheers

If that's the case your really the only person who can answer the question. Do you often change you mind about styles or things you buy? 10-15 years is a long time and tastes change but if you like it a lot I'm sure you'll always enjoy it.

I'd absolutely love to have the one with the "schumacher writing on it" I'm a big Michael Schumacher fan.

I dont think carbon fiber is going anywhere. If anything, I think we will see more and more of it in the future as prices come down.

    Re: carbon fiber faces

I love my ORIS/carbon fiber dial and I don't think it's going out of style anytime soon. Over 15-20 years it's really hard to predict whether it'll still be in fashion. If that's your primary concern, you should probably go with a brand/model that's been out and popular for 20 years already. I'm thinking the real classics. Having said that, 30 years, it'll probably be super cool vintage:

I think the carbon fiber dials will be around awhile. The blacked-out lume, on the other hand...
