    Question This or That? Commando...

Out of these two versions of the Commando, which one would YOU pick? The Big Date or the Power Reserve? Please explain why.

    My thoughts:

    Big Date
    PROS: Cleaner dial, $300 less
CONS: Big date complications looks ordinary

    Power Reserve:
PROS: PR complication is more useful
CONS: Dial looks a bit messy, location of PR seems arbitrary

So as of now the PR has the edge for me...

    Rolex - Cartier - Panerai - Zenith - IWC - Chopard - Bell & Ross - TAG Heuer - Helson - Steinhart - Seiko - Others

Wow. Cool watches. I prefer the big date. I like the asymmetrical look of the "9" on the left and the "3" absent on the right. I also like the legibility of the large date.

The PR is nice too. I agree that the PR indicator is somewhat messily placed. Is it chrome? If so, it may not fit the military look of the watch. I like PR indicators, but I tend to keep my watches on winders, so they're always maxed out anyway.

A fan of legible watches, I'm going with the bid date.

If you're looking for yourself then shouldn't it matter what you like :). It's not a tongue-in-cheeck comment. Sometimes when people pick things based on popularity instead of their personal preference, they end up not liking it as much.

So which one do you like?

I think the big date looks cleaner. I tried that watch on a couple of days ago. I literally laughed at it's size. My puny wrists couldn't handle it!! Hahah

Both of these are fantastically awful pieces, the color scheme is rubbish to begin with. Having a power reserve complication sounds nice, but I agree the placement is not the best we've seen; the square case and symmetrical dial demand the best placement and design of the PR indicator, but I think it is safe to say that B&R failed at this task. The same goes for the date, but on a smaller scale.

    1) Are those color images? I'm guessing yes.

    2) Are the straps rubber? I have never seen any pilot/cockpit instrument inspired watch on rubber. This is a first?

Big date. The power reserve looks out of place and crowds the dial.

A man's watch is a very cherished thing. You steal that, you might as well be stealing his soul.

Neither do anything for me, but between these two I prefer big date.
