    Does this look dumb?

Anyway, I hope somebody besides me likes it. This is a vintage "Zorro" watch. When I ordered it, for some reason I thought it was more of a man size. But, it is pretty small. So, I put it on this leather cuff I had from a watch that has long gone by the wayside. Zorro was my hero in the late 50's and the thought of wearing a Zorro "character" watch once in a while (around town, etc.) would be fun. Not for anything serious of course. Anyway, it looks a heck of a lot better this way than by just wearing the watch alone. It also looks off center because of the angle of the photo, but it is perfrctly centered. What do you guys think? Say what you feel, you won't hurt my feelings. I will test it out today in public and I'll bet no one even notices.

It's a little odd size-wise. Either the watch needs to be 8 - 10 mm wider or the strap needs to be smaller. Interesting case/lugs though.

Hehe, doesn't look dumb to me! I've posted pics of mine occasionally on WUS; it was the very first watch I ever owned, given to me by my Mom on my birthday in 1957. Somehow, I kept it all these years. It still works, but I never run it. I lost the original box with the Zorro hat that came with it. I was a huge Zorro fan when I was a kid... Would love to see pics of others, but I'll bet we're the only 2 that own one on WUS!

I sure hope you had yours serviced first before using it, as it is probably 50+ years old...

The bund is a good idea, great way to beef up a vintage. I often wear my fathers Junghans on one on account of its smaller size. See below.

That said, I think yours is too big for the watch, I would see if you can track one down that doesnt leave as much space between the sides and the watch, at least not as much. The hunt for the right bund can be a long one, Ive been through at least 6 including a custom made one before I found the "right" one.

*Burberry Automatic Chronograph Valjoux 7753 (BU1210)

    *Vintage 1956 Junghans Chronometer Cal. 82/1 (682.73)

    *Vintage Movado Sub-Sea Kingmatic HA360 Cal. 405

Cool watch but I agree with others that the cuff is too wide in proportion to the watch. The one Drez posted is the ticket!

Being Vintage, it looks OK. If it would be new, it would not.

The watch is cool, I watched Zorro reruns in the early seventies, along with The Lone Ranger (I lived in Colorado where we had exactly four channels. Burns and Allen, You Bet Your Life, Daniel Boone-all the old classics were shown). I'm also a sucker for a vintage Mickey. The band is way too big. I was in a Fossil ...... not long ago and they had several types of that band available fairly cheap. Also a nice watch box I almost got.

There is nothing to do to change the size - it is what it is. Just put the Zorro watch on a black calfskin strap and enjoy it as it would have been worn by kids in the 1950's. The leather cuff reduces the vintage appearance of that watch.

Zorro was one of my favorites too, along with Hopalong Cassidy and Red Ryder.
