Fraser Timepiece Company - Kickstarter/Pleasefund.Us Campaign LIVE

    Hello all,

Just a quick note to let you all know that we've moved to the Kickstarter/Pleasefund.Us Campaign to try and get our funding to bring our designs to the world. Our Campaign is now live.

If you have a spare moment please visit the campaign page and our website to see the up to date developments, as well as the rewards and pledges that are on offer. Even if you don't pledge a timepiece, there's lesser pledges that all count towards our goals and dreams and would be greatly appreciated.

    Campaign Page is HERE

    Our website is HERE

Thanks to all the Watchuseek community, I couldn't have got to this point without the huge support and generous comment and feedback you've all (mostly ;) ) provided.

Let's hope this gets us where we need to be.

    Regards

    Gordon

    Hi all

Ernie thank you very much for putting this as a sticky.

Good start already with nearly 10% funding!

If I could kindly ask all the previous reservees to head over and pledge your reservation that would be fantastic.

Any questions just email me directly or pm me here.

Thanks again and spread the word.

    Hi Gordon,
I just received an email from pleasefund.us informing me I had received a full refund on my VISA for the pledge I sent in. Does this mean you're not going through with the funding campaign?

    Best,

Re: Fraser Timepiece Company - Kickstarter/Pleasefund.Us Campaign LIVE

    Hi All

Sorry for the lack of update but I wanted to take a bit to reflect.

The campaign was a failure unfortunately. Whilst it is really disappointing that 90% of the people who said "I'm in" failed to show up to pledge from Watchuseek, it was ultimately a big ask in the first place, especially when at the very core I was asking people to put down a lot of money on what is really a leap of faith...even with a safety-rope attached.

The Fricker route was an amazing opportunity for all to get a fantastic and very high-calibre timepiece for pretty much cost price, but it really needed that injection of pledges before we even got on our way and the crowd funding campaign was not the way to go it seems.

I want to thank the few people who did pledge and show their support for me and my ambitions. The plan was to get the pledges in early and both myself and the Pleasefund.Us team were going to use that early interest to then go to the press and try and get the UK public aware of the crowd funding scene, as it's still pretty new over here. Had the campaign got the £15-20,000 that would have resulted from the WUS members and other ...... pledges, then it would have been a great stepping stone and evidence of an exciting project based on the crowd funding platform.

I wanted to start a fresh and exciting company focussed on bringing unique and individual timepieces to the world, at an affordable price, and I will succeed. But for now I've decided to wind it back and get my first designs prototyped first and go from there.

It could have been great, but then its never been easy, and in this climate with the financial strain on us all, it's no wonder a tricky and new project would struggle to get off the ground. Whilst publicly the crowd funding campaign was the only visible show of effort towards the goal of getting funded, I've been working tirelessly offline to network and get myself in circles where there are people with money. I've had hundreds of meetings with advisors, privateers and other business aficionados to try and get support and advice towards getting what is really not that much money in the grand scheme of things. But that as well has proved unsuccessful so far. I think it's just the times we live in now where people are a lot more frugal than even 4-5 years ago. Money is tight and I must respect that. There's no point in getting upset. Life goes on, and so must I.

So for now I want to thank all who did support me and my goals. It's absolutely wonderful to think that there's people thousands of miles across the globe willing to support a complete stranger get up on the ladder. For you who did, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please do keep in touch.

I'll still be around here and I'll be as active as I have been, but for now the drive towards getting the £40k needed to go down the Fricker manufacturing route is being put on hold until I can get tangible physical timepieces together.

All the best to you all, and thanks for supporting me.

    Gordon

Hi Gordon, very sorry to hear that, I was about to enter my pledge, like I promised to do. Good luck with the prototypes, and do keep us posted, because I believe in your new brand and collection.

Hey Gordon, i am new to the forum and recently saw your story and i am really sad you couldnt got through with crowdfunding, but i am pretty sure that your will and passion will take you were you want to be, and also please let me tell you i like a lot the design of your pieces and i am sure that will make a succesful brand when you launch it. Now, the way i can support your project is this, as soon as you have the watches or prototypes but when you are close to having the first batches done i would be really happy to take the distribution for Mexico as soon as you are ready, to help you move the pieces as fast as it may possibly be. Please keep me in mind because even though this is only a dream for now, i am sure that when the tangible pieces do exist i could get you the first several orders in really small time and i believe that would be important for the growth of your brand.

    Thanks,

    Alberto.
