Gevril GV2.. This one a good buy??

Love the look of this watch and what I've read about the brand has been up and down. All of your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Personally at that price point i would be looking at a nomos which has a in house movement and is descrete but classy.

The only real opinion that matters is your own, of course. If it speaks to you, wonderful!

With that said and since you asked, for me, that watch is pretty awful, and I don't say that of many pieces asked about on here. There is simply so much that I find aesthetically displeasing on that dial, from the "Masterpiece" text, to the use of IIII instead of IV, to the apparently non-funtioning meters at 12 at at 6 (what are those?)

Also, I could be incorrect, but it is my understanding that the Gevril of today has no relationship to the old brand referenced in the listing?

All-in-all, seems like an overhyped pseudo brand, no mention of what type of movement is in it, and WAY overpriced, I think their MSRP was a total shot in the dark and not at all indicative of what they sold for in actuality...

Two years ago I purchased a GV2 Stadium for $300 from a daily deal site. The watch is solid and well made, a tank, the bracelet rivals anything I've seen. I was expecting an ETA movement but it arrived with a nicely decorated CL-888, which is what the piece your looking at has also. I'm satisfied with what I got for the price I paid but I would have been po'd to have paid $750 for that movement.
