Confused Grubby digits on your grail.....

You look through the sales forums desperately seeking your new "flavour of the day".... everything is right about the piece.... price (quite possibly in the $1000's), condition etc....your paypal account is bulging and ready to burst......

.....and then you look at the close up pics..... you are a stickler for detail....which is why the FIRST thing you notice is a thumb...the fingernail is a bit too long....maybe even yellowing....the skin is cracked and peeling.... you cant even look at the watch.... the leaperous (is that a word?) digit draws your total attention with it's grotesque splendor... you tear your eyes away from this morbid fascination ....decide a brush with necrotizing fasciitis is just not for you and move on......

I've been mulling this over for a while.... don't sellers get it??? I'm not going to pick out specific examples because that would draw undue attention to a particular seller or two and further harm their chances of a sale..... but seriously are these folks like Golem with the Ring? Has their obsession with watches caused stress induced psoriasis?

If I ever see a watch like that, I'm not buying it. For one thing, Australian quarantine (who are uber strict about organic matter) would detect the nail fungi spores inside the package and seize it.

I've sent a few spit ridden saxophones and sax mouthpieces over there a few times. They get worse stuff than watches that's for sure!

I guess it doesn't inspire confidence that the watch will be clean.

Oh you people are disgusting! You got cooties and furthermore never take your watches off.

    I feel soiled!

So what difference does it make, whether it's 20 minutes or 20 years, since neither amounts to the faintest echo of the tiniest whisper in the thunder of time.

How many times a day do you wash your hands? What about locking and unlocking doors? :)

Have to agree with OP...some less than flattering skin conditions on occasion. Better merchandising could be done without the hands. If not a hand model..better off not showing the hands. ☺
