I am having this argument with my friend about this 3rd Grade question.
"How many times does the minute hand move around the clock in one day?"
I say 24 rounds, she said I am wrong, the "correct" answer is 1440 (60x24).
I say, the correct answer is incorrect. She said, "did you read the question correctly?" I said "yeah".
the question is asking minute hand move "around" the clock. Every min, min hand go 1 block. 1 increment.
60mn = 1 circle = 1 round.
you wanna go "around", you must have "a round". 1 increment is not "around".
1440 answer is only correct when question should be asked:
"How many times does the minute hand move in one day?"
She is not convinced by me.
I am not convinced that I am WRONG.
What do you think
