    Hey,

I was one of those constant perusers who didn't register until he really needed to....and now I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner!

Anyway, Ive been looking for a dressy watch in the 2000$ range as my first "serious" watch. I'm not into simple dials...I like happening dials- like chrono sub dials, or a moonphase and day/date, or a retrograde of some type.

I would absolutely LOVE some type of watch that had a gold tone or plated casing with a black dial and black strap- but every watch I found with that color scheme is ridiculously expensive.

Any suggestions from the extremely knowledgeable forum?

    Thank you so much!

If you dont mind a 35mm white dial, here is one option
Oris Artelier Complication 58176066351LS available at $1400 at gemnation.

    (Image taken from gemnation.com)
Stainless Steel and 18k Yellow Gold
Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Subsidiary Dial for the Date, Weekday, and 2nd time zone (24 hours), Moonphase Aperture

This comes in a 40mm dial too, but thats Stainless Steel and Rose Gold PVD and a brown strap available for $2150 at gemnation.
    Are you watching closely?

Hamilton Jazzmaster Chrono... doesn't have any complications, but looks a little busy, and is available black dial/gold plate case.

Sounds like you need a quartz if you dont wanna spend big bucks.

That seems to just be a chrono. I think its missing day and retrograde features.

Thank you guys for your suggestions! I think I've narrowed it down to 3 watches. I'm a young starting businessman, usually dressed in white and black dressy attire...I just can't decide which one will suit me best...

    My top choice:

    Second pick:

Third pick (but I would switch the brown band for a black croco):

    Any comments greatly appreciated!

If you're open to used, I'd look for a Concord Impresario Chronograph.

31 jewels. Swiss Mechanical Automatic El Primero Calibre Zenith Movement. Certified COSC ( Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres ) Chronometer. 12 hr, 30 min, 60 sec registers chronograph. Triple Date Calendar - Day/Date/Month.

Not many more complicated watches, one of the best movements ever made, and these watches look exquisite.

    Also available with black dial.

18K gold is also available, but puts the price above $2K.
