    IWC or Breitling

A quickie. In everyone's opinion, which is the better:

    1. The new IWC Spitfire Chronograph (IWC Schaffhausen | Fine Timepieces From Switzerland | Collection | Pilot)

    or

    2. Breitling Navitimer 01 (NAVITIMER 01 - Navitimer 01 - Navitimer - Presentation - Models - BREITLING | INSTRUMENTS FOR PROFESSIONALS™)

Or are there any other chronograph watches that'd fall broadly into this price category wothy of consideration?

    Thanks

    NAVITIMER!

You really can't go wrong with either though.

IWC. Navitimer is too busy for me.

You can't go wrong with either of them though I would choose the IWC for its flyback function. They're both great timepieces and both are iconic but how did you select them and what similarities do they share? If it's that they're both chronos you have literally tons of different chronos to choose from. Go look at the Coolest Chronographs thread down below for hundreds more. Or two ongoing Lemania 5100 threads for vintage pieces. That was an amazing chrono movement with a central seconds hand..

Then there's the legendary El Primero. Just expanding your world view. You have a healthy budget. I'm jealous.

Here are three others I own:

iWC isuch better looking, especially with the grey dial. I have no patience for breitlings and their busy, baroque dials. Ugly.

    Re: IWC or Breitling

Might I suggest the new Breitling Transocean? While I too am not a huge fan of the Navitimer, some of the new Breitling offerings really look clean and sharp to me. Ironically, my next watch purchase is down to 2 pieces, one of which is the IWC Portugeuse Chrono. But the Spitfire doesn't quite sing to me. Additionally, had I not just purchased a Superocean Heritage, the Transocean might ver well have been my next watch.

Here's a link, going to try and also post an image but may not transfer from my iPad... Try their custom doodad, look at the gray panda dial on a brown, alligator strap, simply stunning.
