Looking for some opinions on which model as a first "real" watch.

    Hey everybody,

First post on this excellent website. A while back I started to see watches with a new eye. I don't know what it was that sparked my interest but something clicked. Since then I've been researching and looking around for my first real watch and I've narrowed it down to two models. I'm having a terrible time deciding which one to go with. So without further ado:

    Things I like about this:
-Originally I was set on a military themed style. I like the simplicity of the face and the practical-ness about the watch. I felt that it could just as easily be worn casually but also could dress up decently. (At least at my age, I'm a college student). I planned to buy this watch with the bracelet and also order a "Bond" style NATO strap. Something about those simple straps I really dig, and I feel like that this is the perfect time in my life to wear something that casual. I did try this watch on at an AD and I did like it, however, after seeing some other watches I'm starting to worry its a little too understated.

What made me love this watch was the Rolex Submariner. I love everything about that watch but obviously it is way out of my price range. I looked through many of homages and found this one to be my favorite aesthetically. I love the combination of the diver watch on the NATO and pretty much everything about it. I think that this watch just seems more substantial and after I look at it for a period a time, and then back to the Hamilton, the more I like the way it looks...

I believe that both watches are pretty comparable mechanically, but I'm hoping to hear some feedback about the little things that can't be described online or in pictures about these watches. Things that may swing me one way or the other.

    Appreciate any opinions/feedback.

EDIT: If it helps my wrist size is 7.25inches
    Thanks!

Sounds like you like #2 more in this duet. It has AIW hands...that's what I read somewhere.
