Oh, come on... We were going easy on you...

Simple answer - find 2 or 3 watches you like the look of (after all it's going to be strapped to your wrist, after all...) then ask the forum what our experience has been with them...

Your first post was quite like John Cleese in the "Cheese Shop" skit.

I think you will be hard presssed to find an 01 or 03 in the $1500 range...

Most of the "Professional" series are new retail in $1300-$1600 - and pretty bulletproof - while still being acceptable under a shirt cuff in a suit.

Or you could just strap a nice piece of Wensleydale to your wrist?

My budget is about 1500$:thanks

True durability is probably best reserved for watches with quartz movements like the Casio and Timex sport digital watches. Most mechanicals are housed in cases made from the same grade of stainless steel so the case durability should be comparable between them.

A Steinhart Ocean 1 is one possiiblity as are the many watches from Oris.

    Spot on.
I never understood any particular auto/mech being described as "tough" or "robust" except perhaps for comparative water resistance ratings.
It's great to read about the drops and knocks people post about their watches surviving but that's all anecdotal and the same watches might go belly up after the next mishap.
The only autos I'd call "tough" are hardened or coated watches that resist scratches.
    At least that's something.

Ball actually tauts their watches for shock resistance as well as low-temperature operation. I just saw some in person last week and they look much more impressive in person than from their pictures. I think many of their models is within your price range.
