Part of the Alexander Shorokhoff Avant Garde Collection, “Babylonian“. Limited to just 500 pieces, the watch represents a cosmos of celestial bodies and signs of the zodiac under a lightly vaulted sapphire glass, framed by a case of massive stainless steel.

The fascination of the zodiac observed and interpreted by the ancient Egyptians is creatively captured on the watch dial. The central element of this timekeeper is a hand engraved movement featuring a special polishing of sun beams at the front side. A grooved ornamental part at the horizontal axis in waves’ shape represents the water of the rivers Euphrates and Tigris. A small sun and moon stand out against the movement which is encircled by a glimmering purple-blue MOP ring.

Alexander Shorokhoff was born in 1960 in Moscow. As a student he consolidated his knowledge in engineering, drawing and design and completed his engineering studies in Moscow with distinction. After rising to the rank of director in an engineering firm, in 1992, Alexander founded a marketing company in order to sell and market the well known and respected Russian watch brand Poljot. Today the brand is based in the small town of Alzenau in Germany, producing watches that are in high demand by watch connoisseurs around the world.

    South East Asia Tour

On a recent Autumn tour of South East Asia, Alexander’s travels took him to Bangkok, then Jakarta and finally Hong Kong. The plan was to make contact with dealers and to cultivate new friendships. When Alexander arrived in Bangkok, he was happy to discover that many people are already acquainted with his watches; and that the brand has a good reputation, making it much easier to prepare the ground for future business.

Alexander with Ario Francisco Sindu, Manager of RAW

The next stop on the Shorokhoff road show was Jakarta in Indonesia. Here he was welcomed by the local distributor, the young and successful company “RAW” overseen by manager Mr Ario Francisco Sindu. The ‘toast’ of the meeting was the recent arrival of Babylonian. In Jakarta, the young and successful company RAW, under the management of Ario Francisco Sindu, met with a lively response to “Alexander Shorokhoff” the brand. The two collections HERITAGE and AVANTGARDE have won over a lot of friends and watch fans. That is definitely unique and interesting. While I hadn't heard of this brand until a few months ago, this brand seems to have some unusual and well finished watches. I'd like to get a look at some of their offerings in the metal...

Yes it's an interesting and somewhat affordable brand that I've only just recently become aware of
