Forget the watch, I want that strap for my Kontiki.

Do you think my Seiko Shogun looks like a Submariner homage? Was Seiko making dive watches before the Sub existed?

I think it looks like a Seiko. I personally would never get it confused with a sub. The hands and case shape are just too different.

I agree. But I prefer my seiko divers to have the crown at the 3:45 location. It is a cool seiko trademark. Not a fan of the phallic hour hand either but hands are not a deal breaker anyway.

Well, that's a good thing. LOL I have a similar feeling about a great many nice watches, although I can't say I wouldn't wear them, but I can say that I don't want them and since they often enough cost more than I care to spend, it's just as well that I don't.

Your comment calls to mind one of the key tenants (IMO) when it comes to buying "stuff," be it watches or any other indulgence: the price is irrelevant before one's committed to actually buying it. Fore example, I wouldn't buy a Rolex that has a pink dial, and it really doesn't matter if Rolex will sell it to me for $10 or $10K. I don't want one, so the price doesn't matter. A deal is not a good one if what I get for my money is something I didn't want to begin with.

    All the best.

Surely you'd be tempted to buy that special edition Pink Explorer for $10 if just to flip it down the road knowing the fantastic appreciation a limited edition Rolex would command...😜
