    New-comer seeking help!

    Hello watchuseekers,

I'm very new to this ground of watch hobby; to be honest, I'm quite overwhelmed by the amounts of different types of watch brands and designs. Since then, I've done some research and founded out that I truly love the design of

    1. Hublot Big Bang series
    2. Audemar Piguet Royal Oak Offshore

    especially in black, titanium case.

Buuuuuuuut the price is simply way over my budget, which is around $1300. But I was able to find a watch that was quite similar and yet cheaper.

Chase and Durer Conquest Chronograph Black. ( http://www.chase-durer.com/features/..._features.aspx ) I've never heard of the brand but the look of it is certainly nice. Can someone here give me a general overview of whether this watch's quality meets its price ($1,295)? I would also appreciate if someone could give me an advice on where to buy. I've seen couple Conquest watches on Amazon for cheaper price but they didn't have the black model.

    Thanks

I know very little about the brand...so not much help. I did a quick search and found this http://www.promenadewatches.com/cata...ph-p-1704.html I've never purchased anything from the site so can't vouch for them. A more extensive search may find an even better price. Good luck.
    Best regards from sunny England

If you don't mind stretching the budget a bit or going for a pre owned in mint condition, you could take a look at the Baume & Mercier Riviera. Its got a similar design to the APROO and its a pretty good brand
Its available for $1.65k-1.85k on gemnation.com

Thank you so much for the link! I will give a call to see the best price they offer. BTW, is this website a reputable dealer? Sorry for asking many questions.... I will try to research this on my part as well.

Baume and Mercier Riviera also caught my attention but for some reason, I'm not that intrigued by the design... maybe the reason is that the face have too many edges? 12 compared to the octagon used in APROO

First off welcome to our forum.

I wouldn't pay 1000+ for a quartz movement, but thats just me. For that price you can pick up some pretty good watches, especially if you don't mind something being pre-owned.

BTW, does DC5 have anything to do with the car? I just sold my DC5 a few weeks ago.

I currently drive Acura RSX Type-S clubrsx member here

I've sent an email to Chase and Durer about whether if that dealer is really an authorized dealer or not. Waiting for reply.

Mean while, I've founded out that I also like the Longines Conquest series.... way too over my budget though

I've been on CRSX for a few years now.

You'll be surprised at how much nicer people are here than on CRSX.

Hamilton Khaki X-Wind chrono: limited edition (PVD) has a Valjoux 7750. Can be had for about $1350, perhaps lesser as well. Automatic chronograph from a brand that makes affordable, high-quality watches.

    Collection:
A few of this and some of the other ...

I've seen this Hamilton X-Wind chrono sell for less than $1000 -

Absolutely wonderful value for the money.
