I think you're on track with the Speedmaster, but I don't care for the gold. You could go for the "moon watch" and come in under budget, most likely.

Wow, some definitely different choices here.

Gold sports watches make no sense to me; the unblinking eyeballs at the bottom of the Braun dial are unnerving at the RJ looks like a rusted piece of junk someone dug up from their back yard.

The Montblanc is a gorgeous piece with an interesting movement and unique dial display. It's a non-starter at anywhere near its retail price, but would make a cool pickup at the right number. It's an easy choice for me from amongst this crowd.

the TITANIC watch is a nice idea, but the labeling on the face sinks this watch from the beginning. as for the Omega, it looks like a watch that a cop from serpico would wear. a little dated. the martin braun won't stop staring at me, and what's with the rulers. the mont blanc wins by default. i would prefer it on a strap. but at this price range there are so many other watches i would get. this is a weird mix of watches. it would be like asking, "what is your favorite food? Uzbeky? Bhutanese? Cayman? or Canadian?"
