    Opinions on vangarde tempo théorie?

I happened to stumble across the Vangarde Tempo Théorie and found it to be rather cool looking. However, my question to you is how's the internals? I understand it's a modified 7750 movement but in a,, honesty I know nothing about watches. Is it worth it's 4850EUR price?

I don't find it that difficult to read and I think the design is really neat. Wouldnt call a Harry Winston Opus 12 nor some Urwerks as easy to read neither. Oh well, opinions are subjective.

Honestly, I don't know how one can really place a value on a new watch. All of those things people used to gauge watch value seem to have gone out the windows.

    1: Materials: Gold/diamonds ect...
2: Workmanship/Quality: Finish, design, Hand done decorations ect... The complex machines have changed the game.
3: Accuracy: How many seconds per day, per month, ect...

These things are pretty much out of the equation, I mean not totally, but when you start to exceed the $500.00 watch price threshold on a new watch, it's hard to know how to really determine it's value.

    What we have today are.

    1: Name/Reputation
    2: Design/Fashion

These two things really just drive demand. A watches value, aside from the sum of it's parts are greatly driven by the desire for people to own a particular watch.

That being said, I suppose there must be people that really like this watch today, but I wouldn't count on that being the fact tomorrow. The watch doesn't offer anything really unique or special. Aside from some well regarded person declaring it the best thing since sliced bread, I think it would be hard to justify it's price tag on the watches physical merits.

At the end of the day, the watch is worth what the market and most importantly "you" are willing to pay.

    Regards,

    Mike

I'd call it a class project from a bunch of 3rd graders.

C'mon, class project? Well, a 426000eur project for 3rd graders isn't that bad.

In reply to panamamike, I totally agree. It's always a question of what the market is prepared to buy. However, if I can get something unique for the same price, then I really want to hear about the alternatives.

The past days I've browsed thousands of watches, but most of them look pretty much exactly like the next. So I started to think I want a collection of watches where none is similar to the next. so my target is to have some sporty, some classy and a few a bit different.

    Checkout Otium and Angular Momentum.

I'd wear it. It's weird, but it does seem like a good job skeletonization.
Daily Rotation: Grand Seiko Hi-Beat + Aqua Terra 8500 + Ananta Double Retrograde
Non-Daily and Former: 1965 Timex Handwind + Citizen Signature Grand Complication + Citizen 8651 + Planet Orient + 1965 Wyler Automatic + Omega Constellation

I think it looks ok. But I'd pick Perrelet skeletonized chrono (can be found for very good price gray) or Ressense for innovative design.
