Question for you Marathon CSAR owners

I'm thinking about picking up a CSAR, but I don't want to spend that kind of dough only to find out that I can't wear it because of it's size. Can anyone that owns one tell me how it compares in size to watches like the Omega SMP Chronograph, Rolex Sub, etc? I have a fairly small wrist, say 6.75 inches or so. Historically I have worn the Seamaster Pro Chrono, Submariner, various Suunto watches, G-shocks, etc. I haven't found one *yet* that was too big for me to wear, but when I look at some pictures of the CSAR it just looks like a beast that can't be tamed.

I would appreciate any opinions, and pictures showing size comparisons/wrist shots if available.

    Thanks!

My MSAR at 41mm wears slightly smaller than my 40mm Rolex GMT, which is perfect. Not sure about the CSAR, as I can't recall if it is the same size or a larger diameter.

Here's a pic of the CSAR with my Rolex GMT Master:

The CSAR is a massively huge, heavy watch - and I like it a lot!

I like the look of the CSAR but the size and the price turn me off.

Marathon watches tend to be on the thick side of things. In fairness to them they are designed to be used while wearing gloves.

As a former CSAR owner, on rubber and leather it's not too bad. Put the bracelet on, and it was just too bulky. It sits pretty high and is rather heavy. I loved it at first but quickly grew tired of it. If its not going to be a daily wearer, I'd say go for it. I flipped mine(at a huge loss) to help fund my current watch.

I have the same size wrists as you. I wore mine on a Sinn rubber strap with large deployment clasp.

I have larger wrists than you but I don't think wrist size is the important factor with the CSAR. It really isn't that big across the dial, it's just really really thick. I took a nice bit of paint out of my Jeep with the CSAR bezel the first week I was wearing it. Straight down to the metal. I just swung my arm normally but that extra half an inch of thickness was enough to run the bezel into the door frame. Not a mark on the watch once I brushed off the transferred paint.

I've never tried the "official" bracelet but I think it wears well on NATO, rubber, and leather straps. I often use a brown crocodile strap if I don't expect to get wet. A bit of an affectation but I think it looks nice. I have a generic 22mm steel bracelet I sometimes use but it needs to be tighter than I like to control the weight of the watch.

It's enormous. I have a JSAR and a nearly 8" wrist, and it's almost too much. You can't pull it off. It's big, wide, thick, and long.

A man's watch is a very cherished thing. You steal that, you might as well be stealing his soul.
