Strap suggestion for vintage Timex

I found this 1972 day/date Timex in my Dad's tool box. It was my Grandpas and I wanted to bring it back to life.

I was interested in suggestions for an 18mm strap. I'm leaning towards this Hadley-Roma mesh, but didn't know how the silver would look with the pseudo-gold.
I already have watches with nylon straps, metal band and brown leather. That is why I am leaning towards mesh.

I assume black leather is what was on it previously. I have seen black mesh as well. Perhaps that would look nice?

I would suggest black leather too. The 'bay has oodles of options.

Also, I would suggest trying to find a new crystal. That will really help transform the watch.

I'd go for a fixoflex in matching colours, would underline the vintage look.

I like the idea of a gold colored twist-o-flex bracelet simply because they were so popular when that watch was made. It would fit in perfectly.
