Swiss Army watches Victorinox vs Wenger

I posted this on another forum and it was suggested I post the question here. I see that both Victorinox and Wenger make Swiss Army watches. Which is considered the better watch? TIA, Bill P.

I think Victorinox do much better knives.

I got a Vic Maverick II Alarm and it's a great watch (sapphire crystal)!

    I say stick with Vic.

    Yes, Victornox is better.

Keep in mind that out of the two Victornox was the first to make watches and Wenger started making them to compete with Victornox.

Also the U.S. army uses Victornox knives.

The higher end Victorinox watches are great.

So is a Victorinox Swiss Army Ground Force a 'Swiss Army' or a 'Victorinox'? I that one of the 'high end' one. I have one coming, used and im pretty stoked-it looks great, though the white face will take some getting used to. SS/Ti bracelet, see though back. They come up in here infrequently, which I suppose says something, but now I want an AirBoss Mach IV Mechanical....

    Since when?
    They didn't when I was a soldier (1986-1992).

    To answer the original question...

I think that both are good.
    Besides, Victorinox now owns Wenger.

    Now that is interesting news!

I was told today that in the USA the genuine Victorinox watches have Victorinox written on the dial just below the emblem while import models of the same watch just say Swiss Army under the emblem. In other words, I was told they are the same watch, but one is USA and the other is grey market. Is that really the case? Thanks, Bill P.

I didn't see any when I was in in 2000. Spec types probably have an issue knife of some kinds but the rest of us got bayonets when necessary, but not issued.
