Taking Off Your Watch at Work

I am sitting at my keyboard right now . . . my wrists are resting on the desktop. The strap of my watch would be rubbing on the desk if I hadn't taken it off. Now my wrists are lying flat . . . which helps my "typing" position. So, I was wondering how many of you took off your watches once you settled down to your desk or other task--and, if so, where do you put them? On the desktop? In a drawer? In your coat pocket?

I've been taking off my watch for many years at work . . . it seems that I can type better without a strap digging into the desktop or being pushed against the underside of my wrist.

My office, being located in the middle of the Kuwait desert, is dusty as hell. I don't normally wear my Omegas to work. A duststorm can come up in a matter of minutes, and I don't like to wear an expensive watch in such an environment. Plus, almost any surface you touch is dusty.

So . . . how many of you take off your watch, and what do you do with it?

Depends on the type of work i do. During desk work I, too, take off my watch and put it next to my laptop so I can check the time. I have my own little office, so no worries about theft.
When I am working on my patients the watch and all other juwelry comes off and goed into my desk drawer, which can be locked.

    Regards

I never really notice my watch while typing. However, I do take it off if there's a chance of damaging it while performing some task. Also, if I have to go outside in the summer to help a customer load their merchandise I'll leave it in my desk drawer so I don't sweat up the strap.

I never take my my watch off at work. I have gotten used to wearing it that it feels like it is apart of me.

I only do so if my wrist gets sweaty or I am doing alot of typing, otherwise I leave my watch on all the time.

If I do I set it beside me on my desk.

when I know there are going to be very physical days at work I usually will wear a g-shock on that day...

If I get caught doing something with a nicer watch on...I will usually either lock it in my desk [i have the only office in an entire building] and alarm the room...or in a real pinch I'll wrap the case in a microfiber eyeglass cleaning cloth and button it up in a cargo pocket...and ber careful
    Cheers!

Sometimes I do, most times I don`t. I got a "Kensington" mouse pad and a keybord pad so wrist and balm are somehow "protected" as well as the watch (bracelet). But as I said, sometimes I do if I have to deliver a report or e-mail or whatsoever on time.

I do much the same, I have a wrist rest that I keep ~1" from the end of the keyboard. That way the watch strap / bracelet falls in the gap between the keyboard and the wrist rest.
