    Tourneau brand watches?

I have known for some time that Tourneau sells its own brand name, but I have never given them any consideration. Anyone out there have any experience with, or know anything about, these watches?

Lower end? All of them? I have seen some that are upwards of $5000 to $6000 (e.g. Gotham Avant Garde).

Up to about $1500, the higher end (last I heard) were made by Austin & Paul and some (years ago) Oscar Waldan. I've been out of the loop for quite a while. Quality is all over the place. Gotham (the monkey watch)
dial work is right up there.

Inflated made mp up MSRP's are no indicator of quality.

Does that mean you would actually have to walk in to a Tourneau to buy one? Shudder.

You can get all these Tourneau watches at much lower prices on ebay. I'd never buy them at Tourneau directly not unless you get a 50% discount. But then again, I'd rather buy other more established watch brands than Tourneau.

However, I do heard that they're pretty decent watches. Now if we're talking Wempe, then I'd say go for it.

I agree. I have seen them in person, and they look like decent quality. but the idea is still cheesy -- that's why I never considered one. Still curious about the quality, though.

    Re: Tourneau brand watches?

No one mentioned this, but I bought one of the quartz chronos awhile back. GREAT looking watch, but unwearable by me. The caseback has such a concave curve to it in an attempt to 'conform' to the wrist, that it was terribly uncomfortable to wear. I'm skinny and have a rectangular cross-section to my wrists, so the curved caseback meant only the tip of each lug touched my wrist, which is uncomfortable. Too bad, it was a nice looking watch.
