    Victorinox Alliance 241322 vs 241473

    Hi,

I am new to this forum. I am tempting to buy either one from Victorinox but I lacked info of the 2 watches. Hope someone could give me advise
    - What is the quartz movement used by the 2 watches (241473 seems to use Ronda 715)?
    - What is the crown type used (screw down or push/pull)

Amazon.com: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241322 Alliance Black Dial Watch: Watches
Amazon.com: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241473 Black Dial Watch: VICTORINOX: Watches

Any experience/review/recommendation of the 2 watches?

    Ckook

    Hi ckook,

I just can reply your two first questions :)

    1. The old 241322 is equipped with an ETA 955.112, and the new one (241473) is equipped with a RONDA 715.
    2. Both have a push/pull crown

If you need more info, just ask :)
    Regards

    Hi Original,

Thanks for the feedback. Which one (the quartz movement) will be more consistent in quality? Is the ETA a better than Ronda because there is USD30-40 price delta between the 2? I am trying to buy from Amazon and do not want to ship back due to defects.

Both movements a very robust. I don't think you'll have any problem with them. However, the ETA has an EOL (End-Of-Life indicator) and the battery-life of the RONDA is two years better.

And except movement, what may explain the different prices could also be the treatment of the dial. On the old one, there is no Luminova on hour markers. The dial itself is also flat and matte on the old version, which is not the case on the new Alliance (you have a sun-ray effect no relevant on the Amazon picture). And finally the hour markers are completely different. The faceted markers on the new version are more complicated to make, and allow a better readability in every situation.

Maybe someone here have experience with one of those two models?

    Original,

Seems 241473 is better overall. Do you have the lug to lug length?
