Welsbro triple date watch, what do you think?

    Hi,

I just bought this off a watchmaker of mine for 183 us dollars.
The thing is I just like the look of the watch and never owned a welsbro watch before so I was wandering if anyone could share with me their history and when did triple date came about?
I am interested in the history of a watch so I value a watch more that way. I will try to take as many picture so you can give your ideas and comments.

    Enlightened me!
    thanks!

First of all: Welcome to the Public Forum.

Your watch probably was made in the 40ties by Welsbro Co. in Switzerland. A lot of watches have been exported to the US. US-Import code according to Kathleen H. Pritchard: Swiss Timepiece Makers 1775-1975, Phoenix Publishing, was WXE (check the WXE balance cock, there should be an engraving "WXE").

BTW: I wouldn't say "triple date" but "full calendar", there have been full calendar watches with moonphase indication and without (day, date, month). Your watch most likely is fitted with a 17 jewels handwinding movement.

You may consider to repost on our Vintage & Pocket Watches Forum.

Well,no big deal to move it but the poll you added to your post does not make much sense on the Vintage & Pocket Watches Forum. Otherwise I had already moved it.
