What are the best watch / brand names?

Sorry Jason, you know I had to do it though... you 'Negative Nancy'! ;D

    Top three to me...

    Rolex
    Seiko
    Vixa
    Doxa
    Yema
    Tissot
Panerai (although pronunciation, for me, seems extremely hard every time)

    Alright gents, go...!

No worries mate - I ripped the idea off of the Growler thread, anyway. There's no such thing as an original idea!

Correct me if I'm wrong, BTB, but you are talking about the names which sound the best - not necessarily the best watches? I like the names that sound like the watches that they are. That didn't make as much sense when I typed it as it did in my head...

Jaeger Lecoultre - You know these are gonna be some pimp-arse posh watches

Sinn / Tutima - Sounds Germanic and solid. Works if you say "Der Sinn" or "Das Tutima"

Timex - Honest, affordable watches that tell the time.

G-Shock - I know it's not a manufacturer, but it is a brand. My favourite watch brand name, one of my favourite brand names of all time (forgive me my fascination with brand names, I used to work in Advertising, my father had an advertising agency for many years, I grew up in the industry).

Baby G - Only a modern Japanese company would have the audacity to come up with this, and the light hearted funky style to get away with it. IMO works best when seen on the wrist of a super hot Japanese raver girl.

ps - apologies for being a negatibve nancy. While I'm at it, apologies for telling the guy who's always wanted a Panerai grail, then got distracted by a PO, that "meh" he should "get a MM300 or a MM600 SD". Been grumpy, it's been a heck of a week, gotta get a huge proposal out in 7 hours...

Re: What are the best watch / brand names?

I like a lot of Russian watch names especially when its actually on the dial in cyrillic
Buran (sounds cool, but I suppose the actual meaning, snowstorm, is sort of odd), Sturmanskie, Vostok,Aviator etc.

    Others:
    Stowa
    Steinhart
    Panerai
    Chotovelli i Figli
    Giuliano Mazzuoli
    Potger Pietri

The best is Vacheron Constantin I don't think its possible for something to have a name that cool and not be good.
