What watches are you trying to stop yourself from buying right NOW?

I've sworn a vow of watch celibacy for the rest of the year...

BUT... here are two watches I'm sitting here drooling over, and I have to keep slapping my right hand with my left to keep myself at bay.

Baume et Mercier Capeland Flyback Chronograph

    Ball Engineer Master II GCT

Sonofabitch Max, but my do we have similar tastes in watches... That B&M is gorgeous. My favorite of that brand by far, I've handled a few of the Capeland models, and that one takes the cake.

Me, I'm trying to stay away from an IWC Portuguese Chrono, with the gold markers. Just love that piece. My one true lust-over piece is a Blancpain FF, most notably the blue dial (as on the Perpetual Calendar Flyback) but in the simple watch, which is supposed to come out in Oct. I've decided it is simply too much coin though, and I didn't even need to convince myself too much, it really is out of my comfort level (at this time...)

So, I hope to get the IWC as my next purchase, assuming I don't stumble upon something else, in the manner that I picked up my Pan Europ last week...

I'm a watch weenie for certain

I've always loved that IWC Chrono... I kinda prefer the blue but only by a hair. The IWC that really gets me though is the Portofino 8 day... something about the way it feels when you wind it. Whooo!

I haven't even messed around with any Blancpains yet... my wallet starts seizing up when I'm in the same building as them. But maybe I need to change that... god help me. lol.

I'll tell ya, the Fifty Fathoms is the cat's meow, for certain. That bezel, with the sapphire over it, damn... It is simply sublime.

On SaturdaymI walked into Little Treasury with the wife and kids. Wanted to show my wife some birthstone jewelry they sell....got to chatting with Steve and next thing I know, my wife and 7year old are spurring me on to pick up a 60's Pepsi GMT Rolex. Only thing that held me back was that it was redialed....the case and bezel were beautiful....

    Here's a reference shot...(from the interwebs)

Oh yeah, and the new roof, new patio, just got back from vacation and both cars now have minor problems and the control panel on the fridge is shot. Why was I the only one saying no???????

Did you ever get your big orange clanker watch btw?

No way I'd be able to say no with the wife rooting me on... I'd be done!

A pre-owned (almost mint) Breguet Type XX is teasing me for a while. But I have to resist this temptation...BTW, the Capeland is very, very nice. Now: don't give me ideas, please... I decided not to buy another watch this year.

Naah it lasted on my list for a minute or two. I still have my orange monster and the girls picked me up a honkin yellow Invicta for fathers day. It's my go to pool watch now.

Gotta tell you it was hard, if it weren't for the redial, I was there. I'll be back next month for something for my birthday though....maybe a new night train....

It's a long list. Another Aqua Terra 8500 (in white/opaline), a PO 8500, JLC Master Control, Grand Seiko SBGH001 Hi-beat (a serious contender for the next one), GS SBGR061, GS SBGR059, Nomos Tangente Gangreserve...I think that about covers it....in no particular order.
Daily Rotation: Grand Seiko Hi-Beat + Aqua Terra 8500 + Ananta Double Retrograde
Non-Daily and Former: 1965 Timex Handwind + Citizen Signature Grand Complication + Citizen 8651 + Planet Orient + 1965 Wyler Automatic + Omega Constellation
