30th Birthday is 3 days away and I can't decide!

Between the classic 2220.80 or the blue SMP-C.

I'd really like a blue dial watch, and I've searched extensively and haven't found anything else I like better than these two blue SMPs. The new TAG Aquaracer aren't bad looking, but sounds like they're having serious issues. I'm not crazy about the big numbers on the Longines Hydroconquest. Deep Blue watches are cool, but WAY too big for me, same generally goes for the Helsons.

Any other cool blue dial watches to recommend before I decide between these two Omegas? I'd like something <14mm thickness, between 40-42mm case.

I have the 2220.80 and I absolutely love it. It's a stunning watch.

However, you already have a great white with wave pattern. Do you really want another watch with the same pattern?

Do you like having a good time? Then you need a goodwatch!

How about the Skyfall AT when it eventually becomes available? Looks like a stunner. Happy 30th BTW!

I love a blue watch and the new SMPc looks sharp but the ceramic look shiny in the photos. I'd love to see how it looks in person, but I think either would make a terrific watch.

I'm actually in the process of selling my Great White, which is exactly part of the reason I like the 2220.80 because I'd still have a wave dial.

Thanks! And yes, that Skyfall AT is a beautiful watch, hadn't seen the real life pics of it yet. You know, I do really love my 25033.33 AT, but at least it's 39.2mm which is as small as I like, the 38.5mm size might just be a bit too small for my liking. And yet a 41.5mm AT might be a tad big for me. Really a 39.5-40mm AT would be the sweet spot for me.

Well, lucky for me I'll be in Vegas for my 30th so I'll have to swing by some watch shops and hopefully make a decision.

The blue SMPc is absolutely fantastic. I've tried it on at the AD recently and I was blown away by it's beauty. The blue ceramic bezel looks great and the dial is really clean and clear without the waves.
I've also tried the Longines HydroConquest and the level of quality, finish and detail is significantly lower than the SMP. The crown and clicks just feel very 'breakable' and sort of cheap to me, but then again this watch is a lot cheaper than the SMP.

If I were to buy a blue diver right now, I'd get the SMPc in a heartbeat.

Good luck with your decision and happy birthday!

    cheers, martijn

In that case, I would go with the 2220.80. The wave dial is amazing. I know some people think the design is dated. But it's been around for almost 2 decades and it still looks very nice. I say it's a timeless, iconic design.

    Speedmaster Professional.

It could be passed down to your child on their 30th birthday and it would not look like it came from a certain time period.

    Spend a day shopping.
To be honest, I think you need to spend a few enjoyable hours trying some on.
Take the wife, girlfriend, family member etc with you, if you need help making
    the decision.
When i purchased my PO and DSSD the wife and I spent a few hours trying different
watches on....and drinking their free coffee!
    It's a really enjoyable experience.

I'd rather pass down my PO some day, especially since I'm not crazy about the Speedy.
