This is such a personal thing! You don't have any chronograph in your collection, so that might balance it a bit more. You mentioned that the Breitling SuperOcean was a gift and you like it...And if you add the seamaster one of them might seem redundant after the initial honeymoon phase. That makes me thing speedy.

But buy what you are drawn to.

But you're wearing it, not me. Get what you like.

This has been great advice. Consensus is go with your heart/gut. But Speedy does seem to be more popular (not surprising).

So I went with my heart - I got the Bond Seamaster. Love how it looks.

But I see a Speedy in my future...

I own a black dial Seamaster but, if I had a Sub, I would definitely opt for the Speedy.

Funny, I never planned on getting another diver, since the Sub-date is the classic diver. But the bright blue bezel and dial with red seconds hand end plus red Seamaster text won me over. If it was the black Seamaster, Speedy would have won. But I'll just get a Speedy later.

You did the right thing. Im one of those people that don't get the speedy. Sure, its "iconic" but what does that mean in respect of a purchase decision? basically, everyone knows what it is. Its a lovely watch, I would like one in my collection but theres always something else that stops me getting one & the hesalite (if the one you were looking at has hesalite) isn't something I would risk during day to day use. Your SMP is bomb proof, its got the funky ceramic bezel which looks incredible in the sun and you can wear it anywhere, work, beach etc and you rinse it off under the tap and its back to showroom condition. I had a PO and SMP at one point and the SMP got most wrist time just for the fact its comfortable and the case is so low profile you won't ding it on anything. Enjoy your watch.

I'm sure this will open a whole new debate, but maybe get the Speedy Moonwatch with the Sapphire sandwich? Or does that make it not a real moonwatch in many people's eyes?
