Does the SMP Lume Last Through the Night?

Just as the title asks, I am wondering if the lume on the SMP (2220.80 specifically) will last through the night and still be legible in the morning?

My Seiko 173 will be easily legible all night long but it has thick hands which are fully lumed-up, I'm wondering if the skeleton hands on the SMP shortens the length of time the lume is effective.

It's not an SMP, but I have a example from my Speedmaster. The little dots next to the 12:00 indicator are lumed and they're really tiny. I can see them all night long, so at least on this scale, smaller lumes don't seem to fade more quickly than larger lumes. I'd bet the lumed skeletonized hands will perform just fine.

Yes they do.. My 2220.80 can last throughout the darkness till dawn.. But the glow does get fainter and fainter, but yet still visible..

My 2221.80 used to be my travel watch and I often wore it for the night also. The lume lasts long enough, but with the skeleton hands it's possible to mix the hands a bit with the markers, at least when quickly checking the time in dark. No problem if you focuse on it, but anyway.

I found the sword hand models and the PO far easier to read at a quick glance.

from my experience my seiko's lume last brighter longer than my omega lume

you can still see a tad of light at the early morning but it's quite dim

Don't forget that lume becomes less effective with age... I think the age of the watch will be an important factor here.

I'll second that, the 2220.80.00 made its debut in 2006 and my 2531.80.00, manufactured that same year, still lasts through the night though.

I would agree that the skeleton hands have a reducing effect on the efficacy of the SMP lume come early morngin, certainly compared to the PO, but I wtill find it perfectly readable on a six year old watch with my failing eyesight.

The lume on the 2220.80 is not too bad....it is just about legible by early morning, but it is not a patch on the lume on the PO (2500) which is outstanding

The lume of the PO is great, but the lume of the EB 2255.80 much better :)
