Who should I go to? I'm in Central Texas, I'm looking for a good service person who will take good care of my watch.
I saw a reference to a name Paul, but this person may be in the UK.
Regards,
Mike

he is. I believe his site is electricwatchesuk.com or something similar. Just google 'electric watches uk' and his site will come up. You can ship your watch to him as he does do service still [i think?] but the site is worth looking at juts for all the info on pre-quartz electrics. Also-i think moderator JoeK has the name of a guy here in the states who may service these.
*note: don't expect cheap and if you really want to get into the nitty gritty of these little marvels do a forum search here for f300 and 720hz by M4tt. He wrote an extremely comprehensive essay on these that alas-as good as it was-made a strong case for the fact that basically ALL Omega 'hummers' will meet with death at some point in the future. But there are a lot of ways to prolong the inevitable. Its a pretty great thread if your obsessed with the tuning forks (as I am) good luck

M4tt's WUS posts" on the f300 are by far the most illuminating of any I have read to explain the workings of the f300, sorry I do not have the direct link for you.
Below are some You Tube videos on similar "tuning fork" movements, but they do not give out as much technical understanding as M4tt's.
Bulova Escapement Model - YouTube
Bulova Accutron .214 Funktionsprinzip - YouTube
There is a thread also happening at this time regarding another variant of the f300 on WUS
The Lobster
Hope this helps
Also, in Australia, Tony in Sydney has a great reputation as regards rebuilding parts etc.. PM me if any need further info
Thanks for the posts guys. I have in fact found and read some of those M4tt posts and yes indeed they are quite informative.

I suppose these watches will eventually fail, the big one I've seen has to do with the date wheel teeth. This is why I was hoping to
mine serviced. Seems to be running fairly well, but I'm sure it could use a good service.

i'm pretty sure if you PM JoeK he can at least give you an idea if the guy in the US still does service these. And if your in the UK? Paul at electricwatchuk.com will sort you out.
Of course the fragule plastic date wheels are the biggest pain in the ass in regerads these tuners and in the past few years while prices have been rising there hab=ve been many guys/collectors/-or Paul? who have been buying up parys watches and other brands that used the same liscensed movement such as Titus Watch Co. specifically to salvage the date wheel. SO obviously-they are gettin more and more scarce. If your date wheel does work A) use it as little as possible and you may want to pull the crown which isolates the battery, does no harm to the watch except the battery can still corrode, but it saves wear on the date wheel. OR-if your watch works fine and the date wheel does too-NEVER change the date with the hands between 9pm and 3am. Also set the date and leave it be as much as possible. (at least this is what I do with my two SM cone and Geneva which both fortunatelt seem to have robust date wheel gears. [so far :(]
anyway-good luck with your 300. I love them because they represent a basically excellent solution to the mechanical watch which -when working-keep pretty much perfect time-but only failed due to the cheaper quartz which came about (or came to be used) at approx. te same time.
P.S.-when new-the f300s were top tier in terms of expense with the connies the most expesive and the SM divers and cones next and so on...with the Geneva as the entry level 'hummer' which was still graded a swiss chronomter and was not exactly cheap though I don't know its 1970 initial price intro.

Bit of a bump but I seem to remember reading recently that there was a chap in Eastern Europe (Hungary ?) who serviced them too...can't find that post again for the life of me though so if anyone has any pointers? Thanks!
