Me with the only picture I have of it.
Mine is my daily wearer since 2003 and accuracy is excellent 1 sec per day sometimes 1 seconds per 3 days, pushers are as smooth as on a column wheel chrono.

Well, according to Omega, I have a Mark IV right here!
In this page from a German brochure (provided by Steve Waddington, who maintains the excellent old-omegas.com), we see the ref.176.0012 described as the "Speedmaster Mark IV Chronograph Automatic"
The similarities are obvious, but so are the differences. The dial layout is different. It has a Day window and, obviously, it's not marked "Mark IV." So, what gives?
Well, a search through the Vintage section of Omega's website leads us to descriptions of both the 176.009 and the 176.0012 as "Speedmaster Mark IV!" It is noted that the 176.0012 "Replaced former ref. ST 176.0009."
So, it would seem that Omega didn't want us to think of the c.1045-powered 176.0012 as an entirely new model, but simply as a newer replacement version of the c.1040-powered Mk IV.
I'm sure I won't start referring to my model as a "Mark IV," if only to avoid confusion, but it's interesting to see what Omega may have had in mind.
By the way, I've admired the pics of your Mk IV before, indiana. It's a beautiful example of an excellent watch. Thanks for sharing!

Eric, i know the discussion about your "Mark IV". But the Lemania 5100 aka Omega 1045 is also a awesome movment!
True and wether you have a 1040 or a 1045, you have a marvel of lemania quality.Originally Posted by indiana

I have a Seamaster with the 1040 movement(currently in for service). What type of accuracy can I expect if tuned properly?Originally Posted by georges zaslavsky
with very fine tuning from +3 to +1 sec per day, sometimes you can have a 1sec per 3day accuracy.Originally Posted by Steve1

I will see in a couple weeks when it it is back from servicing. Hopefully it can achieve the accuracy you mention.
