Thumbs Up I got my new Planet Ocean! Pics, comments and questions

    Hey Guys,

Thanks to some of your suggestions and input, I ended up purchasing a new 42mm Seamaster P.O. In between all the ogling and drooling, I managed to take some quick and dirty shots with my iphone.

    Some initial impressions.
This thing is FRIKEN awesome! For me It's a perfect balance between classic and sporty. Something I can wear with a blazer meeting a client or..

    Walking the dog..

    Awesome watch
One thing these photos don't tell you is how vibrant and mesmerizing the orange is on the second hand.

the bracelet is really sturdy, comfortable and looks amazing the way omega made it arc.

Now some questions for you guys!

When I check out the watch on Omega's web page, the "He" valve looks to be positioned next to the "50" mark on the bezel. as you can see on my last pic, it's positioned higher - is this normal?

As for the He Valve - I don't dive at all. Do I need to make sure it's always tightly closed?

I plan on taking some better photos with a real camera when I have the time.

Thanks again for all your input!

Congrats! What an amazing watch. I'm wearing the same one right now and to answer your questions: 1) Your helium valve is perfect. 2) Yes, keep it tight all the time. Even if you're not diving, water could still enter here from washing hands, the pool, etc.

Once you've had it for awhile on the bracelet, you'll want to sample some other options like the rubber dive strap and perhaps mesh or leather straps. Enjoy your PO!

    1. the HE valve should be higher than the 50 mark. Yours is normal

    2. Keeping it closed is certainly better than open. Even though the watch is still water proof when HE is opened (up to 50m I believe).

Thanks for chiming in El and Openwheel!
I know it's legit but it was weird seeing it parallel to the 50 on Omegas webpage..

BTW, Do you guys know how to stop it from beeping every hour on the hour?

It's because of the angle at which the photo was taken. Look at the photo in the header above. In reality, the He valve looks a bit more high in relation to the "50" marker.

    You're joking, right?

Anyway, nice buy! The PO really is an amazing watch. You'll be noticing new things to like about it even weeks from now! Good luck and wear it well.

Good call on the strap! I really liked that leather strap with the deployment buckle while checking out P.O's. Where is the best place to pick one up?

Is it easy to change out the bracelet myself or do I need to take it to a jeweller?

    Thx Dixan,
    I know what you mean!!
I just realised that the back of the second and hour hands are pointed~!
    The details are amazing!!!

I was totally kidding about the beeping btw!
