... and wanted to share a couple of updates, by way of 007 model watches, of course.
As many of you know, I presented one of the public day sessions, the title of mine being "Where would James Bond be without his wristwatch?" I'll be covering a lot of that in my upcoming Blog entries, but I thought you all would be interested to hear that a lot of what really hooked folks were the gadget-by-gadget comparisons between the Moore-era Seiko models and the Brosnan-era Omega Seamaster.
There was also a secured room (with 24-hour guard) where the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors show organizers asked me to set up a display with a selection of pieces from my collection. Space was limited, so everything didn't come with me; I also wanted to provide some context, such as the first edition, first impression On Her Majesty's Secret Service that turned out attract as much interest as movie-related items.
Thanks for looking!
Expect that updates will be coming rather soon on the NAWCC website regarding the June 2010 - May 2011 exhibit, "Bond Watches, James Bond Watches," as well. LINK
