Sorry to hear this as happened to your new omega, hope this does not totally put you off omega. A local AD should be able to sort it out and send it to omega for you. Sounds like the stem as unwound its self off the crown.
Not good and a real shame for you. Hope Ace or your local AD see you right.
Nigel
Best of luck with it- You have nothing to worry about as its under warranty but just disappointing all the same.

pics??
Hopefully all covered under warranty if the crown and stem is intact and not snapped. That, then could be an issue, as that would be deemed as 'accidental damage' by Omega. Hopefully all will be sorted for you. The same thing happened to my son's PO just after receiving it back from a warranty repair, so he was most unhappy. I do work for a large retailer in repairs/admin and see many crowns snapped which always causes issues between manufacturers, the retailer and the customer. But saying that I'm sure your problem will be sorted, hopefully in the most efficient and professional manner as possible.
I went to unscrew the crown to wind the watch and pull to adjust the date to advance a day.....the crown kept turning and came off. No stem was attached to it. I dared not tip the watch in fear of something coming out of the crown hole. So but what you just said....I could be screwed. Just my bad luck I suppose.
I'm still waiting for Dimer to get back to me to see what I should do next.
Thanks for all you input. It's reassuring to have some knowledgable people about such things in a community like this.

Well, keep us updated.
stuff happens that's why there's warranty~
If you look at the crown where it attached to the stem, is the threaded hole clear, with nothing stuck in it? If so, then it sounds like the crown has come unscrewed from the stem. If the end of the stem was not prepared properly/torqued properly, it can come loose. I suspect Omega uses Loctite, so it may be that this one was missed. As noted mistakes happen, but still unfortunate. The fix itself will be a matter f minutes, but the wait in the queue is what will take the real time.
And if the stem is broken, there are reasons why it can happen when it's no fault of the owner, such as when the movement is not centered properly in the case. So a broken stem does no always mean the watch has been abised by the owner.
Cheers, Al
